"Every once in a great while I have the pleasure of being captivated by an amazing speaker. Cindy Solomon is one such. At the inaugural Invent Your Future conference, Cindy gave a talk on courage. She used stories instead of slides and talked about her personal commitment to walk her 'courage' talk. At one point in the presentation, Cindy spoke of a time she was invited by the CEO of a client for whom she had recently completed a consulting engagement. The client invited her to attend an all-hands field trip to an amusement park where he said he wanted to celebrate their successful project by going on the "death drop ride" together in front of the entire organization. While Cindy spoke of her hesitation, then full body fear once up on the platform a hundred feet above hard ground, I found myself tensing up in my seat. By the time she decided to take the plunge and drop with the CEO, my hands were sweating and clutching my armrests -- and hopefully not my neighbors' arms! Now that was a powerful presentation."
